Opioid Settlement

Opioid Settlement refers to a series of legal agreements in which companies involved in the manufacturing, distribution and sale of opioid medications agreed to pay billions of dollars to U.S states, local governments, cities, and other entities. The financial settlements are intended to address the harm caused by the opioid crisis—including addiction, overdoses and poisoning, and widespread public health and economic burden/damage. Please refer to the Department of Health Care Services website for more information: California Opioid Settlement.

ACBHD holds annual Opioid Settlement listening sessions to solicit feedback and recommendations from stakeholders on the allocation of settlement funds. In addition, ACBHD convenes Advisory Council meetings two to three times per year to gather ongoing feedback from the council members on planning, expenditures, and long-term strategies related to Opioid Settlement funds.
