Services Provided by the Crisis Services SOC: MOBILE CRISIS TEAMS Mobile Crisis Team (MCT): Two Licensed Clinicians who respond to mental health and substance use crisis calls Mon—Fri, 8 a.m.—6 p.m. (510) 891-5600 or 911 **Except Berkeley: City of Berkeley MCT (510) 981-5254. Mobile Evaluation Team (MET): Licensed Clinician and Oakland or Hayward Police Officer correspond to mental health and substance use crisis calls. Oakland MET: Mon—Thurs, 8 a.m.—3 p.m. Hayward MET Mon—Friday, 8 a.m.—4 p.m. (510) 891-5600 or 911 Community Assessment and Transport Team (CATT): Pairs a Licensed Clinician and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who correspond to mental health and substance use crisis calls countywide (including Berkeley), 24/7 Request via 911 dispatch. All mobile crisis clinicians are certified to write applications for involuntary holds in Alameda County. However, clinicians will offer voluntary treatment via various diversion programs when clinically appropriate. All mobile crisis teams work in partnership with local law enforcement. Due to safety concerns, requests to respond without law enforcement cannot be guaranteed. If callers are advised to contact 911, they can request a CIT (Crisis Intervention Trained) officer, who has completed training specific to crisis intervention and de-escalation. Outreach and Engagement Teams: Mon—Fri, 8:30 a.m.— 5 p.m. (510) 891-5600 *These programs are 80% staffed by individuals with lived experience. (510) 891-5600, Select 2 for Outreach Teams Crisis Connect/Post Crisis Follow Up: Comprised of Licensed Clinicians and Mental Health Specialists and MSW interns who conduct follow up services to individuals who recently experienced a mental health and/or substance use crisis. The program also prioritizes “Familiar Faces”; clients who frequently utilize psychiatric emergency rooms and/or have frequent contact with first responders, mobile crisis, and/or acute psychiatric services. Staff may connect clients to any services such as mental health, housing, community resources, or recovery programs for substance use. GART: Comprised of licensed clinicians and a registered nurse who provide short-term, age-appropriate voluntary behavioral health treatment to adults 55 and older with the goal of resolving urgent mental health needs within 60 days through linkage to ongoing behavioral health and other community resources. Note that 988 is able to dispatch CATT overnight and on weekends if in-person support is appropriate. You do not have to be in crisis to utilize this service.
