Unusual Occurrence Policy Training
Who should attend: ACBH Specialty Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder service providers, including Quality Assurance (QA) Leads, Clinical Supervisors and clinical staff.

Description: This training will provide information related to what constitutes an Unusual Occurrence, recent updates to the UO policy involving changes to the internal QA process for investigating UO reports, and the revised UO Notification form.

Clinical Documentation Training for the Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP)
Who should attend: Providers contracted to provide Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) at Short-term Residential Therapeutic Programs (STRTPs). Provider QA leads, clinical supervisors, and clinical staff are all strongly recommended to attend.

Description: In accordance with the Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS) Interim STRTP Regulations (Version 2), this training will address ACBH & Medi-Cal documentation standards for STRTPs, including mental health assessment, admission statement, treatment plan, progress note, as well as transitioning determination plan requirements. The training will also address recent changes under the Family First Prevention Services ACT (FFSPA) as they pertain to STRTPs.

Individualized Determinations of Need for Intensive Care Coordination (ICC), Intensive Home-Based Services (IHBS), and Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC)
Who should attend: This training is for clinical staff from Alameda County Behavioral Health (ACBH) Contracted Agencies and County Clinics and Programs rendering Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) who serve children and transition age youth (0-21).

Description: The purpose of this training is to review the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) requirement for individualized determination of each child/youth’s need for Intensive Care Coordination (ICC), In Home Based Services (IHBS) and Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC), and the revisions made to the ACBH assessment template to support agencies with completing this requirement.

Clinical Documentation Standards Training Program
Who should attend: This training is for clinical staff from Alameda County Behavioral Health (ACBH) Contracted Agencies and County Clinics and Programs rendering Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS).

Description: This training program is a review of ACBH & Medi-Cal documentation requirements for SMHS, including counseling & coordination of care services, and the CQRT. This training series will be offered via three recorded, self-paced modules or three live- virtual sessions hosted by the Alameda County Behavioral Health (ACBH) Quality Assurance (QA) Department. Please choose to participate in either the self-paced option or live-virtual sessions.

Network Adequacy – Timely Access Client Service Information Assessment Record Data Submission Training for Fee-for-Service Network Providers
Who should attend: This is a clinical training for Fee-for-Service Individual Providers as well as Fee for-Service Organizational Provider Clinical and Administrative Staff.

Description: The Federal and State Network Adequacy Certification Tool (NACT) requires Alameda County Behavioral Health (ACBH) to submit Client Service Information (CSI) Timeliness data to the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). This training provides information and instruction to providers on submitting data towards this requirement. This training is a collaboration between ACBH’s Information Systems, Quality Assurance, and Quality Improvement Departments.

Network Adequacy Certification Tool – Timely Access Client Service Information Assessment Record Data Submission Training
Who should attend: This training is required of all Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) County Programs and Contracted Agencies. We recommended you have a least one QA Clinical staff member as well as one Administrative staff member attend.

Description: This training will cover information needed to collect CSI timeliness data in compliance with the Network Adequacy Standards for timely access of outpatient mental health services. The training will clarify the definitions of data fields needed to collect and report timely access to mental health services, including tracking requirements for all new clients or returning beneficiaries.

Clinical Documentation Training for Clinician’s Gateway-Electronic Health Record (EHR) Users
Who should attend: ACBHCS Providers only. County run clinics and organizations that use Clinician’s Gateway (CG) as their Electronic Health Record (EHR) and who bill through INSYST. This is not a training on how to use Clinician’s Gateway, but is a training on how to get documentation up to Medi-Cal standards. This training is for direct line staff (but supervisors and QA may attend).

Description: Addresses mental health assessment, client plan development, and service provision documentation requirements in the Electronic Healthcare Records System: Clinician’s Gateway.
