African American Steering Committee Stakeholders: BHCS staff, CBO's, African American Community, Allies to the community and friends. When: 4th Tuesday, 12:30-4:30 Where: Alvarado Niles 5th floor Role: Act as support for the committee and the liaison for BHCS when it comes to the African American Community. Also to help understand what are the needs in the community coming from some of the community providers. Helps to come up with new policies, procedures, and community based practices and to help diversify county and community organizations. Issues Addressed: The disparity in the African American Community when it comes to culturally appropriate services. Using money given to them by BHCS to help these issues.   ACPride Coalition Stakeholders: BHCS staff, CBO's, LGBTQ Community, Allies to the community and friends. When: 1st Wednesday 10:30-12:00 Where: 2000 Embarcadero Strawberry Canyon 4th floor Role: Act as support for the committee and the liaison for BHCS when it comes to LGBTQ Community. Also to help understand what are the needs in the community coming from some of the community providers. Helps to come up with new policy, procedures and best ways to work with this community. Issues Addressed: The treatment of the LGBTQ, educating community, setting up community events and BHCS staff and promoting equality across all genders and sexuality.   Cultural Responsive Committee Stakeholders: BHCS staff, CBO's, Allies to the community and friends. When: 4th Thursday 1:00-2:30 Where: 2000 Embarcadero Chabot Room Role: Act as support for the committee and the liaison for BHCS when it comes to Community and CLAS Standards. Also to help understand what are the needs in the community coming from some of the community providers. Helps to come up with new policies, procedures and best ways to work with the community. Issues Addressed: The disparity in the different ethnic Communities as they pertain to culturally appropriate services. This committee brings many different cultures, religions, ethnicities and people from all walks of life together for the greater good of the community.
