Alameda County Crisis Response Support Network announces the establishment of a support group Adults impacted by murder in our community.
Referral Criteria: Persons 18 years of age and older, residing in Alameda
County, who have lost family, friends or neighbors residing in Oakland
through acts of violence. The Crisis Response Team provides psychiatric
evaluations, crisis counseling and referral of family and friends of murder
victims up to age 30. This support group will provide counseling to these
persons and others referred by community agencies and social service
resources. The group will be conducted by licensed psychologists, Roxie
Mayfield, PhD., and Gerald Whitmore, PhD. The group will be open ended,
meeting weekly. There will be no cost to group members.
Meeting Day and Time: Every Friday 3:00-5:00 PM (Beginning January 30, 2009)
Meeting Place: Youth Uprising Inc., 8711 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland (accessible parking lot)
